Location and surroundings
From Holmegård it is not far for a trip around Vitsø. Vitsø was originally an arm of the fjord with salt marshes at the edge, which had a direct connection to the sea. Over the decades, the area was dewatered by damming and dewatering with the Pump Mill and later with electric pumps. Due to the cultivation of the land, many of the rare meadow plants disappeared.
