Villa Maia is in Ucassaim. Just around the corner from Mapusa. Maia is a Sanskrit word meaning Forest near Village and that’s exactly what our home stay depicts. Built around hillocks, this village is green all around the year and the birds flock around the villa religiously.
Built in 1908, Villa Maia has been our home for the better part of this year. We have transformed it into a home-stay and calling all to come stay and experience Goa with us in a different light all together.
We have five suites and we have delicately designed it for exhibiting Portuguese Heritage charm and comforts. The linen is hand-picked and so are the lights and the decor. The decor is tasteful and the ambience warm. Villa Maia is renovated to fit your comfortability and make the semblance of your holiday more memorable. Our villa houses a Home Chef and a Butler. From the moment you land, Team Villa Maia will be giving personal attention to make you feel pampered and at home.
All our suites have an individual gallery that opens up to the garden. Be assured to be woken up every day by the chirping of birds, one different from the other. The high ceilings of the Portuguese villa allow the air to be circulated and that helps in keeping the humidity at bay. Surrounded by forests, cool breeze throughout the day is guaranteed.
The villa undoubtedly comes with a fully-functional kitchen and a well stocked refrigerator. If you like to cook your own meals or have your meal cooked a certain way, we have you covered. Your butler will also get you everything you need from the best local markets if we don’t have it already.
The common areas are the Grand Sala and the Dining area. While all meals shall be placed in the dining area you are free to eat anywhere you are comfortable with in the villa. The Grand Sala is your spot for all things relaxing. The loungers give you appropriate amount of comfort while you catch the game or the next Game of Throne episode on an all HD cable TV/Projector. We also have high speed internet, Board games and a mini library that will give you ample of opportunity to grab your own cosy corner at various spots within Villa Maia.
