This charming old Faroese home, built in 1854, is where the famous Rasmus Christoffer Effersøe was born. Rasmus was a Faroese agronomist, poet and politician. Effersøe studied in both Denmark and Sweden and subsequently worked as a farmer. He participated in the Christmas meeting in 1888, which was the beginning of the Faroe Islands' struggle for independence. The name "Bóndans Stova" means Peasants' living room, and the name is taken from a line in one of Rasmus' songs.
